How to Connect Grok to LinkedIn

Short answer: add a LinkedIn MCP server to Grok as a custom connector. Since May 2026, Grok can use connectors on grok.com and in the Grok apps for iOS and Android. A custom connector adds any remote MCP server. Add LinkMCP, a hosted LinkedIn MCP server, and Grok gets 34 LinkedIn tools: it can look up profiles, search people, work with your LinkedIn messages and publish posts. This guide shows the exact steps.

What you need

  • Grok on the web (grok.com) for the setup. Custom connectors work on grok.com without SuperGrok.
  • A LinkMCP account. If you do not have one, you can create it in the sign-in window during the setup.

Connect Grok to LinkedIn, step by step

  1. On grok.com, go to grok.com/connectors. A window with the tabs Connectors and Skills opens.
  2. Click New Connector (top right) and choose Custom.
  3. In the Custom Connector window, enter LinkMCP as the Name and paste this address as the Server URL:
    https://app.linkmcp.io/api/mcp
LinkMCP supports dynamic client registration, so you do not need a client ID or an API key.
  4. Click Add Connector. Grok shows "Complete authentication in the popup window..." and opens the LinkMCP sign-in in a popup window. Sign in with your email (you get a 6-digit code) or with Google. If you are already signed in to LinkMCP, click Authorize. A new LinkMCP account starts with the 7-day free trial.
  5. The popup window closes. Grok shows "Connector added successfully" and lists LinkMCP under Connected.
  6. In a chat, type @, choose LinkMCP under Connectors, and write your request.

In the Grok apps for iOS and Android, connectors are under Settings → Connectors.

You can also start on our side: start a free trial, and the setup screen shows the same steps with the address to copy.

Prompts to try first

These work in the free trial, before you connect your own LinkedIn account. Type @ and choose LinkMCP first:

@LinkMCP look up this LinkedIn profile and give me a short brief: role, company, time in the role, anything notable. [profile URL]

@LinkMCP get the recent posts of [company page URL] and tell me what they talk about most.

@LinkMCP find the work email of [name] at [company domain] and check that it is valid.

These need your LinkedIn account connected (a paid plan):

@LinkMCP search LinkedIn for sales leaders at fintech companies in London and list ten, with their profile URLs.

@LinkMCP show my pending LinkedIn connection requests and tell me who each person is. Do not accept anything.

If Grok answers without LinkedIn data, check that you chose LinkMCP with @, or name the tool in your prompt. For example: "@LinkMCP use linkedin_get_profile for this URL." Other tools you can name are linkedin_search_people, linkedin_list_conversations and linkedin_create_post.

If it does not work

  • Grok still shows "Complete authentication in the popup window...": finish the sign-in in the LinkMCP popup window. Grok adds LinkMCP only after that. If you closed the popup window, click New Connector and add LinkMCP again.
  • Grok does not use LinkMCP in a chat: type @ and choose LinkMCP under Connectors before your request.
  • A tool says it needs a connected LinkedIn account: that tool acts through your own LinkedIn account. The message links to the plan page and to the LinkedIn connection.

Can this put my LinkedIn account at risk?

Yes, it can. Any automated use of LinkedIn can put an account at risk, and no tool can promise that LinkedIn will not restrict an account. How much you do matters most. LinkMCP puts daily limits and pacing on every action through your account, and a warm-up limit on connection requests for new or quiet accounts. That lowers the risk. It does not remove it. The limits are on our security page, and the guide on LinkedIn automation risk explains what can trigger a restriction.

What it costs

LinkMCP starts with a 7-day free trial, and you do not need a credit card. In the trial, profile and company lookups, posts and post comments, and email and phone lookups work. Searches, messages, posting and Sales Navigator act through your own LinkedIn account, and connecting it needs a paid plan. Starter costs $19 per month. New trials get their first month of Starter for $9.50.
